Latin American Conference On Uranium Weapons
In March 2009, San José was the location of the annual International Coalition to Ban Uranium Weapons (ICBUW) conference. ICBUW campaigns for a uranium weapons treaty that bans the use of uranium in all conventional weapons and supports the monitoring, health care, compensation and environmental remediation for communities affected by their use.
